Assam Police Constable Recruitment Selection Process

State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) will conduct the Police Constable Recruitment. Candidates who have applied for the recruitment, candidatures will be checked for those applicants. The candidates whose documents are found in the order shall be able to participate in the selection process. Candidates at first have to face PST, followed by PET and a Written Test.

The candidates who are selected shall have to qualify in each of the tests. Final selection shall be based on the performance in the Written Test after qualifying the PST & PET and extra-curricular activities marks. So, the selection process shall have-

1. Physical Standard Test
2. Physical Efficiency Test
3. Written Test.

Exam Pattern of Assam Police Constable Selection Tests

Assam Police Constable – Physical Standard Test

PST will carry no marks but all candidates have to qualify this stage for the next level, i,e. PET. Measurement of height, chest, weight, and other eligibility conditions will be checked in the presence of a medical officer. Thus after qualifying this test, qualified candidates shall have to appear for Physical Efficiency Test ( PET).

Physical Efficiency Test of Assam Police Constable Selection

Physical Efficiency Test shall have two types of events. The test will carry 40 marks. The PET shall have the following events-

• Race
• Long Jump

Written Test Pattern

Qualifying the PET makes the applicant eligible for the written exam. The Written Test shall have 100 multiple choice questions to be answered on OMR sheets. The test shall carry 50 marks in total and shall not have negative marking for the wrong answer.

Final results would be based on the marks obtained in the following stages:

Final Merit List will be prepared district wise based on the merit as well as per the categories of the applicant.
