Selection Stages of BARC Work Assistant Recruitment 2019
Post of Work Assistant in BARC is a lucrative Post under Central Govt. So check the Selection Process of the Recruitment from here. As per the official notice, the selection of the Work Assistant Post shall be through two stages –
- Stage-1: Preliminary Test &
- Stage-2: Advanced Test

BARC Work Assistant Syllabus & Exam Pattern
When we discuss BARC Work Assistant Syllabus & Exam Pattern, it means we shall cover everything about the Selection Test. As we know that the Selection Process shall have two stages – Stage I & II. So Stage wise Exam Details with the exam topics are as under –
Stage-1: Preliminary Test Pattern & Syllabus
This Test will have 50 multi-choice questions of one-hour duration. With respect to the marking scheme, the test will have 3 marks for each question. While 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Please Note that Candidates scoring less than 40% in General Category will be screened out. Whereas, for reserved candidates, the lowest cutoff will not be fixed below 30%. A tabular view on the Exam Pattern & syllabus is as follows –

Stage II Advanced Test Pattern & Syllabus
Candidates qualifying Stage-1 Preliminary test will be eligible for Advanced Test comprising 50 objective type questions of two-hour duration. Similar to the Preliminary Test, this test will also carry 3 marks for each question. While 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. BARC Work Assistant Final Merit List Selection Process
Since the Preliminary Stage is qualifying, therefore the Final Merit List shall be prepared mainly based on the scores obtained in Stage-2. However, in case of a tie, BARC will adopt any of the following methods to select the candidates.
- Candidate with lower negative marks in Stage-2 to be placed higher on the merit list.
- Higher marks in Stage-1 to be placed higher on the merit list.
- Candidate with lower negative marks in Stage 1 to be placed higher on the merit list.
- Higher positive marks in mathematics in Stage-1 to be placed higher on the merit list.
- Candidate with higher positive marks in Science in Stage-1 to be placed higher on the merit list.
