Office of the Chief Judge, City Sessions Division Calcutta under Calcutta High Court has invited application for different categories of posts of staff in the Judgeship of City Sessions Division, Calcutta through Recruitment Notification dated 29th May 2018. District Recruitment Committee of the court under the supervision of the Chief Judge, City Sessions Court, Calcutta shall conduct the selection process of the recruitment. Willing applicants can apply for the post as 49 posts are announced and the place of posting shall be in and around Calcutta. So we are sharing the notification detail in this article, which shall be helpful while submitting the application.

City Session Divisions (Calcutta High Court) Recruitment 2018- Notification

City Sessions Division, Calcutta intend to fill up the vacancies for the year 2017-18 through Notification number 2674 – S (Rectt) to prepare separate panels to fill up the existing and expected vacancies as on 31.12.2018. Vacancies may get revised as per the requirements of City Session Division. More details are as under-

City Session Court, Calcutta Recruitment 2018 | Announced Posts Eligibility

Eligibility, as mentioned in the Official Notification, should have been achieved before submitting the application.

Age Limit Criteria

Age criteria shall be calculated as on 1st January 2018. Post-Wise age limit criteria is charted in the table below-

Age Relaxation shall be as under-

  • 5(five) years for SC/ST category candidates
  • 3(three) years for OBC(A) and OBC(B) category.
  • Upper age limit for Physically Handicapped Candidate is 45 years.

Required Educational Qualification & Skills

English Stenographer: Passed Madhyamik or equivalent & Knowledge in type-writing in English with minimum speed @ 80 W.P.M. in shorthand and a minimum speed @ 30 W.P.M. in typewriting.

Lower Division Assistant: Passed Madhyamik or equivalent and Knowledge in type-writing in English.

For All other Posts: Candidate must have Passed Class-VIII from any recognized school or Madrasah or any other Institution recognized by the Government. For the post of Night Guard, Candidates should be sound health, good physique and free from any organic defect and bodily infirmity. Knowledge of reading and writing in Bengali is essential for Sweeper Posts.

Detail Application Process of City Session Recruitment- Calcutta High Court Vacancies

Offline Application shall be accepted through the prescribed application uploaded on the official website of Calcutta High Court. Candidate should download the application form and fill up the form following the instructions. Necessary application fee should be paid and after payment of application fee, the reference number of the transaction should be entered in the relevant field of the application form. More details are elaborated below-

Examination/Application Fee

Candidate should deposit the examination fee through State Bank of India online process by using any ATM Card / Debit Card / Credit Card / SBI challan, the link of which is shared at the end.

 How to Send the Application?

Application Form after fully filled with the required enclosures must be submitted in a closed envelope superscribed as “Application for the post of ………………………..” (name of the post as applicable) through speed post or Registered post with A/D to the Chief Judge, City Sessions Court, Calcutta-cum-Chairman, District Recruitment Committee, City Sessions Division, Calcutta, 2 & 3, Bankshall Street, Bichar Bhawan, Kolkata – 700 001 within 5.00 p.m. on or before 29.06.2018.

Candidate can also drop the application at the container/box which is placed on the ground floor at Bichar Bhawan, 2 & 3, Bankshall Street, Kolkata – 700 001 on or before 29.06.2018.

List of Enclosures with the Application Form

Following enclosures should be attached with the application form which candidates applying should verify before submitting it.

  1. Duly Self Attested Educational Testimonials & Signed Application Form.
  2. Self Attested Caste Certificates Photocopy (if applicable).
  3. Printout copy of the deposit slips i.e. e-receipt of Application Fee.
  4. Two passport size photograph duly signed should be pasted on the relevant field of the application form.
  5. One self-addressed envelope of the size of 25 cm X 11 cm.
