Physical Endurance Test Details
- Carrying a man (Fireman lift of 63.5 KG to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds).
- Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch landing on both feet (long jump)
- Climbing 03 meters vertical rope using hand and feet.
Fireman Duties
- Major duties of a Fireman are as follows:-
| (a) Fire Fighting
(b) Rescue of men and animals in distress (c) Attend training classes (d) Participate in emergency drills and simulations (e) Study street locations and get acquainted with buildings (f) Daily physical training which includes fire drill (g) Fire station maintenance (h) Inspect and maintain portable fire fighting appliances (i) Educate public concerning fire and life safety (j) Assist in fire prevention programs (k) Fire appliances and equipment maintenance (l) Manning of fire station or equipment in shifts. |
Fireman will be selected on the basis of below selection phases:-
- Phase I – Written test – All shortlisted and eligible candidates will have to appear written test which will be of 100 marks. The paper will be objective type and paper will set up in both Hindi and English without General English part.
- Phase II – Physical Endurance Test – After written test candidates are eligible for this stage. PET is mandatorily applicable for all categories.
- Phase III – Document Verification – Last round where candidates have to submit original eligibility proofs in front of the office personals.
