RPF Constable Recruitment 2023 – Selection Process

Selection Process of RPF Constable Recruitment shall have the following Tests as follows-

  • Computer Based Test (CBT),
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
  • Document Verification (DV).

The date, time and venue for all of the selection stages as applicable, shall be fixed by CRC and shall be available through the registered email/mobile number. Also, Railways will give an update on the Official Website of RPF Constable Recruitment in due course.

RPF Constable Recruitment 2023 Exam Pattern

As informed above, RPF Constable Recruitment 2023 selection Process shall have three main stages of selection. Here we shall discuss the exam pattern of the stages which aspirants shall find helpful.

Computer Based Test (CBT) Details

CBT or Computer Based Test is the main Exam in the total selection Process. Railways will conduct this Test at different centers across the country. The Structure of the RPF Constable CBT is as follows –

Candidates shall have the liberty of selecting the Exam Language among the following languages as follows-

Hindi English Urdu Tamil Marathi 
Telugu Konkani Malayalam                Kannada Gujurati 
Bengali Odia Assamese Manipuri Punjabi. 
  • Total Duration of CBT will be 90 min while the number of questions will be 120.
  • Candidates shall be awarded 01(one) mark for each correct answer with 1/3 marks as Negative marks for every wrong answer. Un-attempted questions will score no marks.
  • To qualify for the next level, it will be necessary to obtain 35% marks (30 % marks by SC and ST candidates) in CBT.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT) Details

On the basis of merit of the candidates in the CBT, the authority will call shortlisted candidates for PET and PMT. The number of candidates will be up to the extent of 10 times the category wise total vacancy in Group of Zonal Railways/RPSF. To get shortlisted in the final merit list, qualifying the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & PMT is mandatory while the same will be qualifying in nature with no allotment of marks.

Events in PET is as under

After Candidates have qualified in PET, they will have to appear for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) which is also qualifying in nature.

  • For 1600/800 meters event only one chance will be given. For the remaining events viz Long Jump and High jump, the candidates will be given up to 2 chances each.
  • Ex-servicemen shall be exempted from PET, However, they will have to undergo PMT.
  • A Candidate must qualify in all Tests as per above norm to be eligible for consideration
PMT Details are as under-

All the candidates qualifying in 1600 mtrs/800 mtrs will be measured for eligibility with respect to height and chest. Chest measurement will be taken only for male candidates.

  • PET/PMT is qualifying in nature. No marks are to be awarded.

Document Verification (DV) – Details

Finally, Railways will call only those who qualify in these two stages for Document Verification. Candidates who do not appear for Document Verification will not be considered in the final selection. Railways CRC will prepare the Final selection list based on the performance in CBT, PMT, PET & clearing the DV taking together.
