Railway has finally come out with very good news for the unemployed youths of our Country; RRB through notification number CEN 01/2018 released a huge vacancy in Indian Railway for the Post of ALP(Assistant Loco Pilot) and Technician Category. The total number of posts announced is 26502. Railways have been the largest employer in our country for decades and employed in Indian Railways which is the Largest Central Govt. Department is a dream for Lakhs of Job aspirants. Every year, Lakhs of applicants apply for the jobs announced by Railways and give their best to secure a Govt. job in Railways. In this year also, RRB announced to fill up the vacant posts of Loco Pilots and Technician categories across all Railway Zones. Since this is Railway Recruitment Notification, job aspirants overwhelmingly registered their application online through the official websites of RRB Zones. RRB ALP Exam Pattern & Technician Exam Pattern @ RRB Notification

Railway Recruitment Board of various Zones like RRB Mumbai, RRB Kolkata, RRB Guwahati and others will conduct the recruitment of Loco Pilots and Technician Posts. Eligible and interested candidates applied to the RRB according to their preferences within the deadline. Since candidates would be appearing for selection exams soon on the scheduled date as announced by respective RRB so, we have shared here the examination pattern of ALP and Technician Recruitment 2018. Stages of ALP & Technician Recruitment | RRB CEN- 01/2018

In RRB ALP and Technician Recruitment 2018, selection of the Posts will be through two stages of examination

  • First stage CBT(Computer Based Test) and
  • Second Stage CBT

These two examinations are common for ALP and Technician Posts. In addition to this, applicants who have opted for ALP and qualified in Second Stage CBT have to clear a Computer-Based Aptitude Test (AT) for the final selection.

First Stage CBT (Common for ALP or Technician)

The First Stage CBT Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices. This Test will be of screening in nature and the score of First Stage CBT exam shall be used only for short listing of candidates for Second Stage CBT exam as per merit. The standard of questions will be in accordance with the educational standards for the ALP and Technician Posts. Tabular view of the First Stage CBT is as under

Second Stage CBT

Candidates will be shortlisted for the Second Stage CBT exam on the normalized marks obtained by them in the First Stage CBT Exam. As per Official Notification, approximately 15 times community wise candidates will be shortlisted for Second Stage CBT as per their merit in First Stage CBT. Short listing of candidates will be done as per the total vacancy of ALP and Technician Posts notified against that RRB.

The Second Stage CBT shall have two parts of the examination

  • Part A Examination and
  • Part B Examination.

Part A Examination marks shall only be considered for shortlisting of candidates for further stages provided the candidate has secured the qualifying mark in Part B of Second Stage CBT.

Computer-Based Aptitude Test

This test is only for those candidates who have applied or opted for ALP Posts. Candidates need to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify this test. Computer-Based Aptitude Test is to be appeared by all candidates opted for ALP posts and no relaxation in this regard is permissible.

Selection of Candidates

For Technician posts: Final selection of the candidates will be based on the performance of candidates in Part A of the Second Stage CBT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT. While in case of Assistant Loco Pilot, merit list will be prepared on the marks obtained in Part A of Second Stage CBT and the marks obtained in Computer-Based AT.

This examination is qualifying in nature and it shall be based on the Trade Syllabus as prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

Only candidates who have opted for ALP mandatorily have to clear this test for final selection. In this test, the vision and psychometric examination of the candidates will be checked for the suitability of the candidates for the posts. Since Loco Pilot is a very important post in Railway Transport, So these Stages of tests are conducted to test the fitness of the candidates.
