Selection Procedure in SSC MTS Recruitment
The SSC MTS Examination is one of the toughest entry level competitive recruitment test conducted by SSC. Actually, SSC shortlists the applicants for MTS and Havaldar post based on the performance in the following Stages –
- Computer Based Examination (Paper I)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) ( For Havaldar only)
- Descriptive Paper (Paper-II).
The Final Selection of the candidates will be according to the score in Paper I ( Computer Based Examination) only while PST/PET & Paper II will be qualifying in nature.

SSC MTS Paper-I (Computer Based Examination) Pattern

- The Paper-I will have Objective Type, Multiple choice questions.
- The Test will be of 90 minute duration.
- Each question will carry one mark while there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I are as follows: – UR : 30%, OBC/ EWS : 25% & All other categories : 20%
PET/ PST Pattern for Havaldar Post Only
The applicants who applied for Havaldar post in CBIC / CBN shall have to qualify the PST / PET. Only the shortlisted candidates in Paper I will be eligible to participate in the PST / PET organised by the Authority. The Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) standards for the post of Havaldar in CBIC and CBN are as under –

The Paper-II of SSC MTS Recruitment 2022 will be of descriptive type in ‘Pen and Paper’ Mode in which the candidates will be required to write a short essay and a letter in English or any language included in the Schedule-VIII of the Constitution.
