WB College Service Commission aka WBCSC has invited the online application from eligible candidates for twenty-second State Eligibility Test for the posts of Assistant Professor in Universities and Colleges of West Bengal only. Hence before submission of the online application, interested candidates should check the eligibility factors. The Online Application is active now and the link will be working until the closing date. Details of Eligibility Conditions for WB SET 2021 is as under –
West Bengal SET Education Qualification Requirements
Candidates with the undermentioned qualification can apply and appear for the State Level Test organized by West Bengal College Service Commission for Assistant Professors –
- Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination are eligible for this Test. While OBC-NCL / EWS Candidates/ SC /ST/ PWD category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.
- Candidates who are pursuing/waiting for their Master’s degree result or whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates shall be considered eligible for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination with at least 55% marks [50% marks in case of OBC falling in Non -creamy layer/ EWS/ SC/ST /PWD (persons with disability) category candidates]. Moreover, these candidates must complete their Master’s degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
Age Limit to Apply
- There is no upper age limit for applying for WB SET. However, for the purpose of recruitment, the relevant Government Order will be applicable.
West Bengal SET 2021 Scheme & Date of Examination
WB SET 2019 will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on 19th January 2020 (SUNDAY) in two separate sessions. Details of both the session are as under –

Steps to Submit WB SET 2021 Application Form
Following are the which the interested candidates can follow to submit the WB State Eligibility Test 2021 Online Application Form.
- A candidate seeking admission to the SET must apply online only on the WBCSC website.
- Before applying online, the candidates must possess the scanned images as below:
- #Passport size photograph in JPG format of minimum 4kb to 40 kb. The dimension of the photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
- #Signature in JPG format of minimum 4kb to 30 kb. The dimension of the signature should be 3.5 cm (width) x 1.5 cm (height).

- After filling all the details for applying online for SET the candidates have to select the option of payment of examination fee either by credit/debit card/internet banking or through e-challan generated during the online filling of the application form.
- After the fee payment confirmation, the application process is complete. At this point, applicants should take a print of it for the record.
