West Bengal Excise SI Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

West Bengal Police Recruitment Board has been given the responsibility to conduct the recruitment of Sub Inspector of Excise in West Bengal. West Bengal Excise SI Exam Pattern 2024 Overview

The Preliminary Written Examination will be qualifying in nature and it shall have MCQ based examination. Whereas the Final Combined Competitive Examination will have three conventional paper exams. WB Excise SI Preliminary Exam Scheme

West Bengal Excise SI Preliminary Written Examination shall be conducted to screen candidates for the Physical Measurement Test & Physical Efficiency Test. Marks obtained in the Preliminary Written Examination shall not be counted for the purpose of determining the final merit list. Duration of the examination will be 1½ hours with full marks of 200 having MCQ based questions. As per the notification, Preliminary Written Examination will either be an OMR based examination. Moreover, the Preliminary Written Examination will be held on the following subjects having MCQ based questions on –

  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs: 20 Questions (40 Marks)
  • Test of Language (Bengali/Nepali): 20 Questions (40 Marks)
  • English: 20 Questions (40 Marks)
  • Elementary Mathematics: 20 Questions (40 Marks)
  • Reasoning: 20 Questions (40 Marks)

WB Excise SI Physical Measurement Test (PMT) Details

Candidates who have cleared the preliminary examination will be called for PMT & PET. The standards of the PMT on which candidates will be checked are given below

WB Excise SI Physical Efficiency Test Details

After clearing the physical measurement Test, candidates’ will have to clear the Physical Efficiency test or PET. It will be conducted in this manner-

WB Excise SI Final Exam Pattern

Qualified candidates of the PMT & PET candidates will be eligible to appear for the Final Combined Competitive Examination on the date as decided by West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. The examination will be a conventional type examination having three papers on the following subjects

  • Question paper for Paper – I (General Studies and Arithmetic) will be set in three different languages namely English, Bengali and Nepali for job aspirants.

WB Excise SI Personality Test Scheme

Candidates who are selected merit wise on the basis of the performance of Final Combined Competitive Examination will be summoned to appear at the Personality Test. Final merit shall be prepared on the basis of the collective performance in both the Final Combined Competitive Examination and Personality Test.

WB Excise SI Syllabus 2024 – Preliminary & Final Examination
