Bihar Police Driver Constable Recruitment –Selection Process[su_divider top=”no” size=”1″ margin=”5″]
Bihar Police Constable Driver and Fireman Posts is a very popular recruitment as the minimum qualification is higher secondary and there is a requirement of a valid one-year-old driving license to apply for the posts announced. But the selection process of the posts has three steps of selection, which a candidate has to overcome to find his/her place in the final merit list.
- Written Examination
- Physical Efficiency Test
- Motor Vehicles Driving Skill Test
Written Examination:
Written Examination will only be conducted for short listing the candidates for Physical Efficiency Test. This examination will be only qualifying in nature and based on the results of this examination, 5 times of the vacancies as declared against categories will be called for Physical Efficiency Test.
Physical Efficiency Test:
Physical Efficiency Test is mandatory for all the applicants applying for this recruitment. Candidates appearing for the Physical Efficiency Test shall be given three chances in the different events; failure in all of the chances will render them ineligible for further process of recruitment.PET will also be qualifying in nature.
Motor Vehicles Driving Skill Test:
Since the Constable Driver post is related to driving, driving skill test will be the last steps of the recruitment. Candidates will be required to prove the required driving skill as per CSBC standards to get qualified for the Posts.
Final Selection List for the Post of Bihar Police Driver Constable and Fireman Driver will be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the Driving Skill Test of the candidates.

Written Examination Pattern:
The written examination is the first steps of the selection; it will serve as the screening test for the Physical Efficiency Test of the candidates. The written exam of the Bihar Police driver and Fireman driver will be an OMR based multiple choice answer based examination of 100 marks. Important highlights of the written exam are
- Full marks of the examination is 100 marks
- Total time duration is 2 hours
- Number of Question will be 100.
- Number allotment for each question would be 1.
- Minimum Qualifying marks is 30 marks
- Current Affairs and General Studies will be syllabus of the written examination.
Physical Efficiency Test Pattern
Candidates after qualifying the written exam shall be summoned for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). CSBC will conduct PET with a series of events to check the physical standard of the candidates. Details of the events with criteria for selection are given below-
Running Events
For Male Applicants | 1.6 km run to be completed in 7 minutes |
For Female Applicants | 1 km run to be completed in 7 minutes |
High Jump Events
For Male Applicants | Minimum Jump Height 3ft 6 inch |
For Female Applicants | Minimum Jump Height 2ft 6 inch |
Long Jump Events
For Male Applicants | Minimum Jump distance 10 ft |
For Female Applicants | Minimum Jump distance 7 ft |
Shot-put Events
For Male Applicants | Minimum distance 14 ft with 16 Pound shot |
For Female Applicants | Minimum distance 8 ft with 12 Pound shot |
Female candidates should have a minimum weight of 48 kilograms in this recruitment. Candidates shall be given three chances. Based on the performance, candidates will be selected for driving skill test.
Driving Skill Test:
Driving Skill Test is the last and the most important as it will decide the final selected candidates for the post. The test will be of 100 marks. Details of the Driving Skill Test is given below.
