About Balurghat Law College, Dakshin Dinajpur
The Balurghat Law College was established in the year 2001. Presently the college is permanently affiliated to the University of Gour Banga. The Bar Council of India has approved the affiliation. The Govt. of West Bengal has also approved the college. In the initial period Balurghat Law College has not its own land but by the time many interested developers help the college to develop. In the year of 2014 the State Govt. sanctioned Grant-in-Aid Rs.1, 00, 00000/-(One Crore) to the said college for the development of the college. It is only one Law College in the district. Intake capacity of the college is 360 Students per Semester of the academic session.

B.A. L.L.B course was only offered by the Balurghat Law College. Duration of the course is 5 Years. From Monday to Saturday class time is 11.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and on Sunday special lectures may be scheduled as per the availability of the visiting faculty members, such as Judges of District Courts, renowned Advocates of the High Court and Administrators. The study medium of the college is English.

The Academic Session of the college begins in June- July every year (Semester System). Classes start with 30 days of the publication of the results of Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination (W.B.C.H.S.E or similar examinations) of the year. Through from fill up and eligibility, verification candidates are selected by the college.
