Indian Space Research Organisation has announced the PA & Stenographer Recruitment after two years. The last PA & Steno recruitment conducted by ISRO was in the year 2016, 49 (Forty-Nine) vacancy is announced this year and undoubtedly this will test the very best of the job aspirants.
ISRO PA/Stenographer Recruitment Exam Pattern
As per ISRO Notification, the selection test will be conducted on 12.08.2018 [Sunday] at thirteen venues viz., Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. The Selection Process shall have –
- Written Exam and
- Skill Test
Short-listing for Skill Test will be for candidates who secure minimum 50% marks in the written test. The final selection list will have candidates name in order of merit in Written Exam and Skill Test.
Written Examination Details
ISRO Written Exam shall have two parts- Objective Part & Descriptive Part. Objective part as the name suggests shall have objective questions on
- English
- General Knowledge
- Arithmetic
- Reasoning
- Computer Literacy
Descriptive Part of the Exam shall have the following topics as below.
- Essay Writing
- Precis Writing
- Letter Writing
The time duration of the Exam shall be 3 hours and Objective Part shall have 90 question with 3 marks allotted for each question. The Descriptive Part of the Written Exam shall have three questions with 10 marks each. Total marks of the Written Exam shall be 300 Marks. The Examination shall be OMR based and candidates shall be supplied OMR answer sheet to answer the questions.

English Language & Comprehension Syllabus
Questions in this component will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding & knowledge of English language such as spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms & antonyms, detecting misspelled words, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, sentence improvements, active/passive voice, direct/indirect narration, close paragraph, comprehension etc.
General Knowledge Syllabus
Questions to test the candidates’ awareness of the environment around him and its applications to the society, current affairs of National & International importance etc. The test will also include questions on History, Culture, Geography, Science, Polity, Economy etc.
Arithmetic Syllabus
Questions on Number System, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Discount, Ratio & Proportion, Mixer & Allegation, Averages, Simple & Compound interest, Time & distance, Time & Work, Pipe & Cistern, Boat & Stream, Partnership, Surds & Indices, LCM & HCF, Simplification, Geometry (Triangles, Circles, Quadrilateral, Lines & Angles etc.), Mensuration (Area, Perimeter, Volume etc.), Trigonometry (Trigonometric Identities, Trigonometric Ratios, Circular measures of Angles, Heights & distance etc.), Algebra (Factorization, Coordinate Geometry, Polynomials, Sequence & Series, Algebraic identities, Linear equations etc.), Statistics & data interpretation, etc.
Reasoning Syllabus
Verbal & non-verbal type questions on Missing Number, Repeated Series, Analogy, Venn diagram, Logical arrangement of Words, Coding & decoding, Sitting arrangement, ranking arrangement, Dice, Cube & Cuboid, Calendar, Number Series, Coded equation, Clock, Directions, Counting figures, Problems based on Alphabets, Sequence, Mirror and Water Image etc.
Computer Literacy Syllabus
Questions will be asked on the following topics as – MS Excel – Spread Sheets, Computer Software, MS Power-Point – Presentation, Computer Fundamentals, Internet Usage, MS Word – Word Processing, Operating System & Hardware.
